Naturopathic Medicine

Naturopathic medicine is a four year accredited doctorate medical degree. Doctors are trained as primary care physicians with a similar basic science curriculum as a conventional medical doctor. The difference is their focus on non invasive therapies and interventions that utilize herbal medicine, vitamins & minerals, homeopathic remedies, hydrotherapy as well as lifestyle counseling, with a primary focus on prevention. Naturopathic Doctors, ND’s, have training with lab work and diagnostic tests, pharmaceutical medicine, gynecology, manipulation and minor surgery. It depends on their specialty as well as their scope of practice in each state as to how they integrate their education and training within their practice.

Naturopathic Principles

-The healing power of nature - trust in the body’s ability to heal itself

-First do no harm

-Doctor as teacher

-Identify and treat the cause

-Treat the whole person

-Prevention

-Essential elements

-Hormone testing

Acupuncture

An ancient modality that facilitates the movement of QI, energy, throughout the body using very fine needles and specific points. Chinese traditional medicine believes that pain and disease occur when QI, running through a variety of channels in our body, stagnates. Specific acupuncture points on the body are used to stimulate the movement of energy to relieve pain, treat and prevent illness and restore mental and physical balance. Acupuncture is a whole body medicine and focuses on treating an individual not just their pain or disease.

Infrared Sauna

Infrared sauna sessions have a wide array of benefits and can be tailored to your own personal needs. Some benefits include detoxification, relaxation, pain relief, improved circulation, and boosting immunity. We offer individual, hour long sessions for $25 and 3 session packages for $70.

Botanicals/Herbs

The use of medicinal herbs in the form of tinctures, capsules, teas and salves have been used for many thousands of years. Herbal medicine’s unique ability to help alleviate symptoms and encourage healing comes without many of the side effects of pharmaceutical medication. Western herbs along with Chinese herbs can be utilized to help acute and chronic conditions.

Emotional Support & Somatic Experiencing

Somatic Experiencing is therapy used to treat both physical and mental health. It was developed by Peter Levine to address the effects of trauma. It is a talk based therapy that uses body based symptoms and sensations as a guide to help ease tension and stress and regain a sense of resilience and relaxation in the system. It is a gentle technique and helps guide a patient through understanding how prior events or current stressors are manifesting physically and how to lessen or alleviate their impact on the mind and body.

All modalities used at Mountain Pearl are focused on decreasing stress and returning the physiology to a state of relaxation, where the deepest level of healing can occur.

Prevention

Naturopathic & Chinese medicine along with CranioSacral and massage therapy are focused both on treatment & prevention. We will work to assess risk factors both hereditary and lifestyle, and tailor a specific treatment and education plan to promote your optimal health not just today but for years to come.
